Education for Sustainable Development, 21-25/8/2017
Education for Sustainable Development, summer session for 2017!
One week has passed and we just said farewell to our 7 trainees from France, Portugal and Poland. Eliane, Cécile, Anabela, Maria, Elsa, Piedade and Małgorzata formed a great team during the last 5 days and showed us once more how eager European teachers are to teach their students sustainable development.
The trainees learned about the challenges of 21st century, sustainable development, principles, characteristics and training methods for education for sustainable development.
One of the highlights of the training was the study visit we organised to the Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece – ARCHELON, which is located next to our training location in Glyfada. During the study visit the trainees were introduced to the activities of ARCHELON, learned about the protection of sea turtles, the educational seminars they run for students and adults and visited the rescue centre where sea turtles are treated till their return to the sea. For anyone interested, please visit their website and support their activities, become a volunteer or adopt a sea turtle!
The trainees represented the following organisations: Ecole Jules Julien élémentaire, Agrupamento de Escolas Padre João Rodrigues- Sernancelhe, Agrupamento de Escolas Rainha Santa Isabel (Carreira-Leiria) and II Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Marii Skłodowskiej-Curie w Końskich.
Thank you for choosing us and hope to see you soon ladies!
